Cotinga homewear - Brand identity

Cotinga is a fashion brand focused on homewear and related products. The line is both comfortable to wear at home, but also suitable for visiting a local shop or having coffee with friends, with a casual look. Cotinga has bridged the gap between pyjamas and casual wear, so that pyjamas can be worn outside the home. With Cotinga homewear, customers can enjoy comfort and style at the same time.

The aim was to create a unique logo that would stand out from the crowd and be easy to look at and remember. The name Cotinga comes from a species of small, colourful birds found in the tropical rainforests of South and Central America, from southern Mexico to south-eastern Brazil.

A warm visual identity based around the bird and the nest
We designed an iconic logo for the brand by playing with two floating feathers forming the letter "C". This round, comfortable shape evokes the comfort of a home. This emblem strikes the right balance between the abstract and the figurative. It is smooth and geometric, but at the same time natural and real. The overall logo conveys harmony and peace of mind through the visual proximity of the yin and yang icon.

Cotinga has a logo in two versions depending on use. A contoured version for monochrome and embossing and a solid version for two-tone use. The Cotinga wordmark is composed of a customised font and its design is based on circular shapes. This esthetic links with the natural feathers circle emblem to symbolize the image of a modern cocoon.

Cotinga is hygge!
Hygge is a Norwegian and Danish word for an atmosphere of comfort and conviviality, with feelings of well-being and contentment. The colour palette is a collection of nude and pastel tones to express a feeling of comfort and softness. The full guidelines of the brand help to keep the consistency of Cotinga, from packaging, to corporate materials and digital medias.
