Today we all struggle with time of isolation in challenging situations just like passing through a long, dark tunnel. Maybe, hopefully this could be the time to look back on ourselves, being isolated in our own place and enjoying unavoidable solitude regardless of our will.

The Korean word “ONSIL” means a greenhouse that provides well-regulated climatic conditions to promote the growth of plants. TUKATA®’s 4th lineup <TUKATA ONSIL>, also, symbolizes the time to comfort ourselves with warm temperature and ideal moisture, focusing more on ourselves. It will inspire you to discover what complete rest means for yourself and how you could truly feel warm and comforted. TUKATA hopes your own ONSIL will be full of hope and bright energy, which could let you up and inch towards a better you— and we believe your life will be filled with heaps of small pleasures and satisfactions and you could love yourself more than before.

We thought about how people’s life style has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. And we found, in the pandemic situation, people spend more time at home and the meaning of the space “home” has changed from a rest place and shelter to where we stay all day long. Many people spend their time trying to find the way to manage stress, relax their mind and body, and recharge, for example, by growing small plants in a dull and boring space for relaxation.

In this new everyday life, TUKATA thought about various patterns of people’s behaviors that help people comfort their exhausted mind and body and find better life with greater relaxation. Behaviors like drinking tea, going for a walk, enjoying small happiness, taking a restful siesta, gardening, or finding gratitude in everyday, are trivial, but comforting enough to nourish our everyday.

We’ve come up with a slogan “Growth with Warmth” to encourage people to care for their exhausted mind and body and to live a more positive future, in this era that has changed in many ways since the pandemic. To bring the best rest, TUKATA’s lifestyle items are based in the seven concepts of behavioral patterns - ‘Small Forest’, ‘Rest’, ‘Going-out’, ‘Inspiration’, ‘Gardening’, ‘Teatime’, and ‘Meditation’ - with a message “A warm rest grows better tomorrow”, just like plants growing well in a warm greenhouse.

We hope TUKATA ONSIL colors your home like a cozy forest. So we design various characters of forest animals, insects, and foliage plants to bring comfort and familiarity your home. TUKATA items will create a soft and warm mood through real plant-like fabric colors and textures, and also the key colors, deep green and silver, will leave a gentle and peaceful impression.

We ran a month-long popup store at a complex cultural space, LCDC Seoul, located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, to provide our customers with richer brand experience of TUKATA ONSIL. We made a space like a real home so that our customers could easily find comfort and relaxation in everyday life, and created a multi-sensory mood about TUKATA ONSIL by using the phytoncide scent and TUKATA ONSIL ASMR sound effect within the space.
