Following the success of the first co-working site in Ancoats, Colony approached to devise a new concept, signage, wayfinding and promotional materials for their new flagship site in Piccadilly M1.

 The initial brand creation was devised for each co-working site to take on its own personality whilst remaining inherently Colony though the use of a small kit of component brand parts. This site was for a predominantly different audience – the offer for this site included private workspaces, with the location and facilities appealing to small businesses, not just individuals. With that, we built the identity around 'Crystallisation' – a step on from the 'Cellular Growth' concept from the first site. Colony 2 hints at something beyond collaboration – a solidifying the growth of the individual as such. More mature yet with the Colony energy and DNA.








 




We were keen to explore introducing the brand into the space beyond conventional wayfinding and wall visuals, so with the help of friends Newform we built two bespoke instillation pieces which echoes the visual aesthetic, using the 12 sided 'petri-dish' symbol, 3D printed (from recycled car bumpers).
