JA Photography — Brand Identity

Project — Brand identity + Publications
Client — Jordan Armstrong Photography

Background
Jordan Armstrong is a fashion and beauty photographer based in Manchester and Bali.

He approached us to create a brand for him that would allow him to increase his reputation in new sectors, but also deliver it in a way that wouldn't get in the way of his work or elevate him beyond the images themselves.

Thinking
Marrying editorial layouts with a high fashion typographic approach, we created a design system that would create consistency across all of his touchpoints, whilst allow flexibility so that the brand wouldn't become too predictable or even boring.

This, paired with a grid framework that was inspired by the DX encoding system found on photography rolls, created a flexible system that gave his room space to breathe and to cut through the graphic noise in the world around.

Delivery
The new framework was created to specifically help Jordan elevate his work to editorial standards, giving him the freedom to create new bespoke materials for individual projects and seasons.

The first two being an overview of his emotive work, titled 'Sensate', and the second being '28—23', a compendium of his shoots from first 28 days in Bali.
