About side ceramics

Side是由两位平面设计师输出的陶瓷品牌，更确切的来说，它谈不上是一个品牌，而是我们的概念表达。
品牌的名字灵感来源于陶瓷在窑中烧制完取出后的每一个陶瓷面都是不同的，不同的side呈现不同的图案与机理，这个也是我们制作陶制品的趣味所在。

输出side的初衷是希望制作一些手边之物，是我们随手可以取到的日常。
同时，side也有“支持”的意思，从器物出发，更多的想要激发，我们对他人的一种关心、鼓励与支持。

一些细微的动作与简单的话语就可以给予对方力量，更怀着一颗同理心和社会发生联系。

side is a ceramics operation established by two graphic designers. We were inspired by how, after being fired in the kiln, the sides of each pot exhibits slight variations in curvatures and feel (hence the name).

Side also takes on the meaning of support and care. Through the initiative, we hope to create pottery works that serve to remind people of the meaningful connections and relationships in their lives.

SLAB TOWN X side 「Raw」Series

每一个杯子都是手工拉胚，而不是翻模制作，因此每一个杯子的形态细节都不一样。经过反复试烧，我们最终选用景德镇特有的「白珍珠泥」和「进口铁胎泥」来烧制。这个系列取名为「Raw」，因为在意最原始的触感，保留原始土的质感和釉面发生化学反应所产生的机理，几近最原始的形态呈现。

在日常的使用中，伴随时间的推移，杯子表面的孔洞会慢慢变粗，质地越粗糙而手感却越有温度。
与SLAB TOWN有着不谋而合的默契是，相比较现在过分关注自己的而频繁分享自己动态的年轻人来说，我们更在意社区感带来的真实和安逸，不经过分装饰，却有人情味的表达。

「不完美的细节才完美」
我们都是不完美的个体，尽管我们满身缺点，却依旧被人包容，被人偏爱。就如「Raw」系列的杯子，每一个杯子都拥有不一样的细节又或是缺陷，对，那就是我们。独一无二的我们被接纳与支持，才是完美的我们。

All human beings are imperfect, yet in one way or another, we are all loved and cared for by others. The “Raw” mugs resemble just that as all were hand-thrown and each have their own minute quirkiness.

After numerous trials and experiments, we ended up using a clay mixture of 「白珍珠泥」and 「进口铁胎泥」, both native to Jingdezhen, for an unprocessed and bare texture that is continually altered and shaped through daily usage over time.
