The rapidly expanding online market for digital typefaces is exciting and diverse. With new fonts and type foundries launching on an almost daily basis, it has been difficult to keep track of notable developments. Type Navigator wants to be an useful current handbook of modern fonts, independent foundries, and innovative type designers that provides an overview of today’s vast market. This comprehensive publication offers an overview of international sources for quality fonts. In addition to concise profiles of type foundries and recent typefaces, Type Navigator features inspirational visual examples of fonts in use. A free digital collection of 100 typeface variations from 20 choice foundries accompanies the 320-page book.

Cover — The typeface we used for the book is Times Lt Std, a Times version with medieval numbers. We have been asked why the hell Times and why for gods sake in red. No, not just to offend the type design world. As well because it was a way for us to seperate our design from the design of the foundries. Using a font that most people have on their computers, that they are seeing every day, that does not surprise them anymore, helped to make our design "invisible".
