Camplify connects people wanting to hire a caravan with expert RV owners, in an innovative peer-to-peer sharing environment—kind of like an Airbnb for Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes and Camper Trailers. 

Developed by an Aussie team of caravan lovers who saw a need for something new, Camplify emerged from the 2014 NRMA Slingshot Jumpstart Accelerator Program - a tech accelerator that helps innovative companies launch into the great beyond of high growth tech businesses. 

It was at this point, as part of the team at Newism, I became involved—working on streamlining the user experience of the platform and providing a design system that could scale as Camplify required. 


Initially, time was spent researching and working to better understand Camplify's users to determine their pain points.

This process involved developing a comprehensive set of wireframes alongside the team at Camplify, which where then prototyped allowing for further testing. This lasted several months, as user-flows were fine-tuned allow a smooth, stress-free process for both the hirer and van owner.


The design system needed to be simple for Camplify's developers to implement and easily built upon—all while presenting a strong and consistent brand.

After weeks of work designing every nuance of the UI, Camplify were presented with a unique system capable of scaling with their success.

The resulting design system allowed Camplify's development team to build a robust set of content types that could be expanded alongside their success.



Launched in Australia in August 2015, Camplify has grown from just 10 listings to over 2,800 to become Australia’s largest rental fleet of RV's.

Going from strength to strength, Camplify has joined with Apollo Tourism & Leisure, who recently became the largest shareholder, acquiring a 25 per cent stake. This was after originally being backed by NRMA after successfully participating in their Slingshot Jumpstart Program.

In August 2017, they launched in the UK with a small team in an effort to build stock. By January 2018, Camplify has become the biggest rental fleet of RV's in the UK with over 250 listings, and growing quickly. Over the next 12 months Camplify is estimated to build double the stock and expand into other European markets.

The start-up has also received numerous awards, such as 2017 Newie Awards Tech Startup of the Year, and has garnered media attention appearing on Channel 7's Sunrise program and in Open Road Magazine, to name but a few.
