The Village Co. is a social marketplace that ignites a powerful connection between businesses, their local consumers, community groups and organisations.

This start-up unlocks the potential in the 10,000+ Australia independent fresh food retailers by allowing them to connect with, and market direct to, their local consumer. It also offers the access and convenience the modern day consumer demands.

After a series of discovery workshops, I worked on building their brand from the ground up to support their future growth and provide a solid base as they move forward. 
Initial Concepts—
After initial exploration, the design direction focussed on a solution that would represent the support network, and feel of a community. Portraying this as a brandmark lent itself towards using the V as the main element in the design. 
Brand Mark—
The Village Co.’s Brand Mark focuses around the use of circular elements and motifs to represent the warmth and connectivity of community.

The elements are intertwined and looped to demonstrate a sense of unity and support. It highlights the encompassing nature of community and of working together toward a common goal; that of a thriving community.

With this in mind, the rounded letter-forms of the V-shaped icon sit squarely in the center. A small “Co” ties back to the business name and appears to oscillate out, as if spreading the word.
Brand Colors—
The Village Co. brand colour palette is defined by bold, natural tones. This range of colour tones helps to provide a sense of positivity, enthusiasm and energy. It presents a brand that feels fresh and full of life.
As a brand, The village Co. is strong, polished and modern.

It presents an appearance of an organisation that is young and innovative but at the same time appears classic and respected.

It has a high level of polish and quality, demonstrating a tone that is playful yet trustworthy. It has a personality and a sense of fun.

It’s the friendly authority. It feels fresh and positive, inclusive and welcoming.
