Pitfall Canyon is a 2D-platformer where you help a hiker escape down a mountain and back to civilization while hellfire rains down upon you. There are three levels, each taking the player through a different location until they either reach their goal or lose their lives. There are also coins strewn about the platforms that players may collect at the risk of the falling, flaming rocks above.
During the first few iterations there was some difficulty in controlling where and how often the fireballs spawned. The original size was made smaller so as to give the player more space in between to navigate, and make the levels more fair. The goal was to coax players into risking their lives for score while successfully reaching the end of each level.
For the future I would like to add animations to the player sprite, and more sound effects to other areas of the game.
