Level 1, build mode
Cubism Race is a maze-like competitive 2-player game made by myself and my partner Mark Sole. Like 'Exploration', this was my first experience with Construct 2. The latter of which I found a little easier to pick up. This was my first experience with Construct 2, so while programming was done in equal parts my partner took the lead in this project. The project went through several builds, Level 2 and 3 receiving the most work in terms of maze design.

Since it was a simple premise, we kept the player design simple as well, using color coded gates to differentiate and break up the otherwise black-and-white theme. Keeping the players on the same screen but separate paths was a way to add some level of competitiveness, even if the paths were mirrored. Some critique we received was on the title screen and a delay that seemed to only affect those playing as Player 2. For the future I would like to expand upon this game, include more challenging levels and perhaps a mode where it could include up to 4-players for more competitive fun.
