International Trucks 2012

Photography
International Trucks (2012)

The brief was simple: shoot a faithful series of portraits of truckers and their trucks.
Beginning in Charlotte, North Carolina, the first stop on this journey was photographing the team trucks of both
Ganassi and Roush NASCAR racing teams in their home state.

From there, I moved on to Pennsylvania and through into Ohio, visiting cities, small towns and truck stops from Pittsburgh, Monaca and West Middleton PA; to Athens, Caldwell & Bethesda OH.

At each stop, I spent time talking with the drivers to find the perfect locations to give the photographs of their trucks the right authentic feel. It was not only important to capture the scale and sheer presence of these trucks, it was also about the owners and drivers, many of whom spend up to 14 hours a day on the road.

The drivers hospitality, patience and general sense of good humor was nothing short of inspirational.
