Concept art & Character design for permaculture online game inspired by farmville and utilising AI technology from the Lirec project
FoAM has been working for a number of years on using games to strengthen the connection between plants and people. The latest approach takes popular games such as FarmVille as inspiration, but explores what would happen if they were infused with aspects of permaculture, and where characters called “Plant Spirits” help or hinder you as you discover a world organised by companion planting.

The selection of the following plants (Apple tree, Cherry, Dandelion, Clover and Choke berry bush) was based on Aronia Melanocarpa plant guild, created to support Aronia shrub in urban environments in the Northern and Middle parts of Europe.
