Mindful Approach is an upcoming tutoring firm in Berkeley. It's mission is to reach special needs students and help them better overcome the challenges they face in everyday education.

Owen, the founder, is a teacher and tutor with many years of experience who started as a special needs kid himself.

I tried to embody the concept of growth and adaptation into the brand mark in a very straightforward way. The goal is to communicate that this practice is not about bending one self to meet outside expectations but rather to cultivate one's very particular inner strengths through self knowledge and reflection.

For the color palette we chose white and light greys to recall paper and a mind ready to learn, orange for the will and energy applied to the work and a forest green for inner peace and self knowledge.

I designed and built a website for Mindful Approach. The challenge was to present all this valuable information in a format that was clear, felt relevant and made personal sense for the people who need this services. In the end, the labor of tutoring is one of absolute empathy, warmth and care.
