GDL En Bici A.C. is a cycling advocacy NGO, one of the biggest in México. With over 10 years of history, it has helped change Guadalajara into a more accessible and safer city for cyclists and pedestrians. A city for people, not cars.
I have volunteered as GDL En Bici's in-house designer since 2012. The work has been as diverse as the activities of the collective, I've produced all kinds of print and digital materials in this years.
I took on the social media for most campaigns and fundraising events, this included devising strategy, designing all the materials, monitoring performance and managing our online communities of tens of thousands of followers. I also served as a liaison with other collectives for bigger multi-collective campaigns.
In the print department, apart from flyers, stationery, fundraising brochures and all sorts of posters, I've done the editorial design for Ciudad en Bici, a bi-monthly magazine about urban cycling in Guadalajara since 2013. We print 6000 units every edition.
Another great experience is being the official photographer at a lot of the rides, workshops, protests, actions and even parties that the collective organizes. Some of the best days of my life, if I may add.
