The Twelve Insanities - 12. “Incomprehensible”
About the art itself:  This may be the most intellectually perfect drawing in my series. Everything is rendered with a striking level of clearness. This satisfies my goal to have every drawing show something you could see in the real world. I missed that mark on a couple of other drawings, but here there is no allegory, symbolism, or metaphor. By this point in the series, I had become comfortable with drawing fairly long, parallel hatch marks. It was inspired by my appreciation for the nearly perfect engraving styles visible on U.S. currency when magnified. Mine falls far short of that ideal, but I enjoyed this exercise in using that fearlessly regular style of line drawing to create areas of uniform tone. This gives the very limited glimpse of woman a sense of mystery and other-worldliness. I have maybe 10 "personal favorite" drawings in the entire series of 72. This is definitely one of them.
