The Twelve Insanities - 10. “Casually”
About the art itself:   This is an unusual drawing because it serves as two drawings in the series. Two painters are working on a house. The one at the left is being too casual and has accidentally tipped over a bucket of paint. The one to the right has become upset and is deliberately throwing paint and cans and brushes in all directions. I needed to put them together to highlight their differences. In this version, the younger man is seen tipping over a buck and his gestures show that it was not intentional. Until that moment, he has been neatly covering the wood siding with consistently applied white paint. This is my visual representation of someone doing a deliberate job. When an accident happens, it is exactly that—an unintentional act. The right side of the drawing is discussed elsewhere. As far as pen styling goes, there is not much worth noting. I am, however, proud of the cloth texture on both painter's shirts. Not easy to achieve but well worth trying.
