About the art itself: The most unique feature of this drawing is the perspective. I rendered the shaft of a well, lined with carefully outlined stones. A unique, spiraling pattern of hatching contributes a dizzying effect. And the peculiar gesture of the person in the foreground is easily recognizable in the reflection cast by the water in the background. One of the hardest things for me is to know when a drawing is finished. This one still feels to me as if something more is needed. But I've learned that when drawing with ink, it is better to stop too soon than to stop too late.
