8. “Nonprofessional”
8th Tradition
“Alcoholics Anonymous should remain forever non-professional,
but our service centers may employ special workers.”

About the art itself: The original version of this drawing (shown below) was technically weak. I used a pen nib that was too large and so could only create thick lines without any nuance. I knew as I started to redraw this nine years later, that I could not improve its spiritual content. But the artist in me craved another chance "to get it right". I thought with finer details and a fresh start, I could somehow improve upon the original. I could have saved myself all of that extra work. The tighter hatching, stippling, and greater attention to detail did not produced a more expressive or meaningful drawing. It's merely different. Live and learn.
