At Yonge and St. Clair, a desirable neighbourhood in downtown Toronto, One Delisle will stand tall as the first project in Canada by world-renowned architect Jeanne Gang and her visionary architectural firm, Studio Gang. Studio Gang’s architecture considers narrative and context and is distinguished by a desire to build better connections between people and place. Together with a team of internationally celebrated architects, designers, and urban innovators, Slate Asset Management and Studio Gang will realize One Delisle, an iconic piece of architecture that unifies Toronto’s urbanity with the tranquility of the nearby ravine.

Vanderbrand was engaged by Slate Asset Management to develop a comprehensive brand strategy and launch campaign that would amplify the architectural ingenuity of the building and complement the surrounding natural landscape and ravines. The brand and marketing materials is a response to the poetics of the building and highlight the future of high-rise living at One Delisle.
One Delisle, a mixed-used residential tower, is a capstone project for Slate who began investing in the Yonge and St. Clair neighbourhood in 2013. Vanderbrand engaged Rosie Flanagan, Berlin-based arts and culture writer, to develop a storied narrative for the 128-page brochure. Her words capture the history of the area, Studio Gang’s engineering innovation of One Delisle, and the collaborative efforts of a dedicated team.
We knew that we needed to do something very special at Yonge and St. Clair. Our decision to partner with Studio Gang was driven by a desire to rethink what a tall building could be and create something remarkable for Toronto.

Brandon Donnelly
Managing Director of Development, Slate Asset Management
In collaboration with Studio Gang, Vanderbrand collected archival imagery of the studio’s design documentation that details the inspiration, process, and philosophy of the architecture behind One Delisle. One Delisle is a monumental project, part of a long-term city-building vision, built to fit effortlessly into the existing Yonge and St. Clair neighbourhood.

With Studio Gang and Slate’s dedication to sustainability and responsibility of environmental impact of the buildings they create, Vanderbrand sought to ensure that the brochure also reflected this ethos. The paper used for the publication is certified by the Rainforest Alliance Program for FSC© Standard and 100% of the electricity used to manufacture the paper is matched with Green-e certified wind energy.
The rhythmic exterior gives the building a bold, welcoming presence on the skyline while also maximizing natural light, views, and outdoor living for residents.

Vanderbrand values subtlety and refinement across the various print and digital collateral. An uncomplicated black, white, and sage colour palette nods to the area’s nearby ravine network, while the curated photography and architectural visualizations reimagines this future-forward, walkable, city block. At every touchpoint simplicity is at the forefront, and each piece of collateral is well-considered and designed to create a cohesive brand experience.
Our plan with Yonge and St. Clair is to be here forever. When you’re thinking that way it changes the decisions you can make. We want to make a difference in this city and we are committed to making Yonge and St. Clair world class.

Alongside Studio Gang, Mason Studio, and Norm Li, Vanderbrand brought to life every space, material, and detail at One Delisle. With art direction for over 30 architectural visualizations, the renderings capture the timeless elegance of each interior at One Delisle.
Vanderbrand commissioned internationally acclaimed type foundry Letters from Sweden to develop a typeface that would reflect One Delisle’s transformation from a square retail base to a 16-sided circular floorplate. The foundry began by designing the wordmark, which became the base for the complete typeface. One Delisle Display is a contemporary sans serif which balances sophistication and complexity by honouring the architectural ingenuity of the tower.
With Slate’s commitment to a large-scale reimagination of the Yonge and St. Clair area, Vanderbrand and Slate worked in collaboration with Raspberry & Jam to develop a three-part film series. The films highlight the past seven years in which Slate has worked to improve the livelihoods of local businesses and residents.

To capture the most authentic vision of the neighbourhood, Vanderbrand and Raspberry & Jam carefully curated and selected a series of photographs to showcase the desirable Midtown community.
The sales gallery is a defining aspect of the sales experience, as it seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living and provides future residents a complete vision of life at One Delisle. The façade of the sales gallery is enhanced with contemporary black awnings and future homeowners are welcomed to a sun-filled space designed by Studio Gang with features and finishes by Mason Studio. With oversized materials and displays, the sales gallery aims to appeal to those seeking solace from the city outside.
