The annual DRA Convention is back, now in the mecca of mid-century: Palm Springs. But the great locations aren’t the only thing that set these conventions apart from year to year... the 2014 convention features their largest program yet! While great for convention attendees, this presented a challenge in maintaining the size of our promotional mailer.
So this year’s design takes a different direction from prior years, favoring the clean and spacious and (fairly) muted over our playful convention themes in 2012 and 2013. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t brought DRA’s characteristic energy! We’ve used bold typographic combinations to capture a retro aesthetic, but with a dash of the contemporary – because we’re grounded in the past, but this is still a rapidly changing industry!
This year’s space-saving designs include color- and icon-coding, an easier-to-understand consolidated schedule, simplified pricing, and much more. There are more convention materials and results to come, so stay tuned!
