Duplex is based on a modern reading of the myth "Narcisse & Echo" from the book of Ovide "Les métamorphoses".
Our interest has focused on issues relating to the representation, picture, reflecting, repetition but also on transmission, communication, knowledge through the language. This new approach connected the work of MC Zago and My Name is Wendy : painting and graphic design.
The artistic installation was composed of three parts :
1. 6 drawings representing historical objects that transmit 3 sorts of information :
- Ideal : Claude glass, the mirror of Claude Lorrain
- True : The sonorous mirror of Abbot’s Cliff and Echo1A / passive satellite
- Illusion : Giant Rock in the Mojave desert, Mirrorbox for phantom limbs, Razzle- dazzle of the boat USS WestMahomet
2. 12 poetic texts performed, recorded, broadcast and installed in 12 sculptures
3. 14 compositions (painting and digital picture) facing each other
