Or Scurati Cave, is an ancient settlement and a speleological geological site located in the municipality of Custonaci, in Sicily. The cave is part of a prehistoric system of settlements which includes a total of nine cavities. The largest cave is the Mangiapane cave, about 70 meters high, 13 meters wide, and 50 deep.

The cave owes its name to the Mangiapane family, who lived there until the 1950s, leading a life based on agriculture and fishing. This family transformed the place into a village. Lately, its houses have been restored by the locals and the last member of the Mangiapane family.

Even today, the village preserves its integrity exactly as a century ago with its sand-colored houses and stone walls. In Mangiapane village, the time seems to stand for more than a century. By coming across this pearl of Sicilian culture, we decide to capture the essence of the village, their habits, instruments, and each peculiar detail of the cave. Through this experience, we could learn a lot about the village lifestyle and the difficulties of every day.
