Amnesty International / Control Arms - New York

A self initiated awareness campaign to inform the world of corruption found in the arms trade. The campaign aims to make the consumer aware of Amnesty International and Control arms and assist every day people to sign the Arms Trade Treaty partition. The billboard image of the world is made of red stickers shaped like destructive weapons to denote corruption. The passer by can physically remove the 'sticker' weapon from the world, once the sticker has been removed you are left with a white shape to show peace and uncorrupt space. The idea to interact with the advert and remove the 'weapon' helps the person feel like they play a role in the process of removing corruption. The images here represent the campaign over a period of time as the consumer interacts with the billboards. Once the sticker has been removed it can be disposed of of stuck onto other surfaces, and over time passers by keep finding little stickers of weapons on cash points, bus door etc, raising the question "Where are all these 'weapons' coming from?"

*The billboard campaign was used in the 2014 Control Arms protest in NYC. With people carrying these huge billboards on sticks across the street as they marched in an anti gun protest.
