Maker Faire KC
Promotional Campaign

My goal for Maker Faire KC 2020 was to create a promotional campaign that celebrates the changing landscape of maker culture and looks to the future by studying the past. I took a collage-centric approach because of the connotative themes of acceptance inherent in the medium, and made heavy use of the future-forward imagery of science fiction pulp magazines from the 1940s-60s to subversively champion the increasing use of technology in maker culture (like 3D printers).

I was honored to receive the Gold Addy Award for this project in the student category for Magazine Advertising Campaign at the 2020 Kansas City American Advertising Awards, and once again for winning Silver in the same category at the district level.
