The Little Engine that Could

Theme art, packaging, advertising, trade show signage, new logo, and style guide for Penguin Young Readers Group licensing consumer products program.

I think I can! I think I can! That was our mantra when developing a complete identity and licensing style guide for The Little Engine that Could. This classic, first published in 1930, teaches children the value of optimism and hard work, a lesson we took to heart as the only creative assets available were the original book image scans. We developed a retro but fresh logo, a packaging system, character turnarounds, vector and raster character art, as well as theme art with badges and placement prints for apparel, borders, and patterns. Later, we created advertisements, sell sheets, and trade show graphics for Penguin Young Readers Group as well as Universal Partnerships & Licensing Group, the property's licensing agent.
