I had 13 different templates to create various email campaigns for AAA. My Project Manager would email me the project timeline and copy. My job was to use the appropriate template, find images to go with that story and mock-up a mobile and desktop version to submit for review/approval. Upon approval of my design from my project manager and AAA I would package and send off the files to the developer to code and place into mail-chimp email marketing platform for distribution to AAA customers.
