Ilya Milstein for Assemble

A section of the main work.
Ilya Milstein is a New York City based, Melbourne raised, graphic artist. His works vary from highly detailed and complex illustrations, to minimalist, single element imagery. He recently worked with Assemble on a number of works to help communicate the concepts and principles behind the Assemble Model - a new housing model bridging the gap between renting and owning your home.

The Assemble Model is a response to the very real challenge of housing affordability and quality in Melbourne. Home buyers are at the heart of the Assemble Model, which delivers projects where good design, community and sustainability go hand in hand. Assemble will soon start construction on their first project to be delivered via the Assemble Model (in Kensington), and they enlisted Ilya via Jacky Winter to create the visuals.

Ilya created a series of illustrations to provide visual representation of the ideas and process behind the model, and to show a creative interpretation of Assemble’s project in Kensington. The illustrations were used for online content, print, animation, and street posters.

Our Flutter team also got involved, making Ilya's illustrations come to life in the promotional animation.

Following the success of these illustrations, Assemble were keen to get Ilya on board again, to create an illustrated version of an axonometric diagram of one of the Kensington apartments.
