City and County of Denver – Way Back Promo
This video is a promo spot that advertised a new programming block for the City and County of Denver’s government access channel. The goal of Channel 8 (or Denver 8 TV) is to promote the city, its history, its culture, and its residents.
The creative driver behind this project was to showcase the channel’s history. The description for the Wayback Wednesday Promo reads: Denver is throwing it back. Way back. Every Wednesday, we will highlight some of our best work from the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s. It’s totally tubular municipal tv!
The Process: Celebrating Decades of Programming in 30 Seconds
For this project, we worked with numerous file formats and codecs from the 1980s to 2000s to produce a finished produced that highlighted Denver 8 TV’s past. Denver Marketing and Media Services requested upbeat, fast tempo, quick transitions, with a linear flow and constant action, jump cuts, and a montage of shots.
The Result? Top Notch Television
Since April 1, 2018, it plays on Denver Channel 8, as well as its sister station, Channel 58, four times a day.
