BANANA BREAD KIT // Product Design 

 

The objective of this project was to create a kit that would make baking banana bread from scratch seem more approachable. This product is targeted towards all of the aspiring pastry chefs with a lack of knowledge.  Often times, the idea of making something from scratch can seem intimidating, but with an easy to fallow recipe it is defiantly attainable goal. The learning process implemented by this kit breaks up the task into smaller ones and provides metaphoric training wheels.  The first time this kit is used, all that is required is to combine both the wet and the dry ingredients and to bake. The second time the difficulty increases, but only in terms of gathering ingredients. Hopefully by the third time, all of the qualms about not being able to complete the task have vanished.

In terms of the aesthetic of the design, I wanted it to be simple, inviting, approachable and comforting. The homemade effect is intentional, alluding to a care package that could be sent by a grandmother. The simplicity of the stickers on the ingredients is meant to reflect the simplicity of the bread making process. Overall, my main focus in this work was to make sure the user experience in interacting with the packaging was impactful.
