Rebranding technology with paper and ink.
GOOGLE’s product logos are inspired by the tactile qualities of physical material. We explored the use of paper and ink when modeling the handmade prototypes. The discoveries made while cutting, folding and lighting the physical models helped to inform the visual style when translated to screen. To further unify the products, an icon grid, color palette, graphic patterns, brand lockups and guidelines were produced to aide teams in any new icon creation and marketing materials. The resulting direction established the foundation for all of GOOGLE's product branding.
