For 15 months, I worked as a contract creative-of-all-trades in the highly confidential world of Nike Advanced Innovation, the hub of leading-edge product research and development at the company’s corporate world headquarters.
Initially, I was brought in to improve the user interface of a recently developed knowledge management and collaboration system, consulting with polymer chemists and manufacturing experts to determine their needs and designing thusly. Quickly, though, I found the opportunity to help solve a variety of design and communication challenges. My primary goals in these buckets of work remained consistent throughout, namely:
How can we translate the ideas and research of our technical experts into stories that captivate the world of business executives and, ultimately, the hearts of consumers?

How can we visually organize notes, communications, and other types of information in order to make our researchers' jobs easier?
