My first collaboration with Hades brought one of my favourite covers (check it here). That's why I was super excited when he called few years later and asked if I want to design next one for his upcoming album. Especially that the story behind it was slightly different. And more colorful.
Hades told me what's the story and pattern behind the tracks, the title and sent me few samples. Comparing to his last album he called it less rebel, freed and isolated from what bothered him at NDTZ album. He said it's 'LSD rap'. I replied only one thing. 'I'm in Amsterdam bro. Perfect place to work on this design.'
I spent next few days on trippin' around the XXX city, exploring the places, tastes and Hades music in totally new sourroundings. Track called 'Perfect Proportions', with his lazy and stoned vibe got me elevated enough to design the thing. Few hours later I was in the hotel with almost finished front cover:
It's easy to overload the design with ideas, so I thought that all creative part should happen on the front - this way you can catch the mood before you unpack the cd. I decided to finish the design with simple but characteristic typography, also leveraging the 'Czasoprzestrzeń' word meaning - time and space with letter placement:
I spent a lot of time thinking how to enhance the cover even more. Drunk discussions with my friend Debet brought us to perfect solution, according to whole LSD mood - let's make this package glow in the dark. This way the cover would be psychodelic during the day, and even more trippy during the night.
Special UV was also applied on stickers included in the box. The box also contained special LSD look-alike booklet with sour taste.
