Everyone is carrying their own cross
series of porcelain sculptures
So many ways we leave a mark on one another. So much damage we cause. Some have their defects from birth, some collects their damage through life. Feelings are heavy burdens to carry silently. Some can bear a lot, some break under the weight. We are scarred for life by our past. I by my loss, you by your fears, he by depression, she by abuse, they by betray and we by being walked over so many times.
This series of porcelain sculptures represent the invisible scars that mark us for life in diferent ways.

They show both the beauty in imperfection and the depth of distortion how an event in life can shape a person.
The pieces are started off from the same casting mould (in the size of circa 22x15cm) and the damage is done to them while or after casting.

All of these individuals had the chance to become a perfect piece of tile with shiny smooth surface to fit together and be part of something bigger, get lost in the crowed. However, perfection is not what makes interesting. I hold the power to create with care and perfection but also, the same power can be used to cause all sort of damage. True to my work, and true to my life.
