FROZEN MOORLANDS – Norway

FROZEN MOORLANDS — Norway

The formation of frozen air bubbles in ice is a beautiful and complex process. During the freezing of water, dissolved gases like nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide are released and form pockets of air which are then trapped in the ice. These bubbles can take on a range of textures and colors, influenced by various factors such as temperature, pressure, and impurities in the water. Slower freezing rates tend to produce larger bubbles, while faster rates tend to produce smaller bubbles. The resulting formations are stunning and ever-changing, reflecting the interplay of nature's elements.
