4 x 4 x 2 Blocks pavilion

Final render of the Blocks Pavilion
For my minor 'Archineering' I designed a pavilion in the gardens of the TU Delft Science Centre.

The main aim for this pavilion is to become a place to sit, meet, think, study and look over the garden.

Two similar shapes were used, all made out of 1200x1200mm blocks.

The shape rising highest above the ground is both a lookout point, for people to overview the garden, and a place for people to sit, relax and study in the sun.

The shape underneath continues slightly underground and forms the contrashape of the above. The blocks in this shape are, just as above, placed to be used as both stairs and sitting area. The height of this shape is similar to the glass pathway located next to it, this allows people to transfer from this pavilion to the glass pathway.
