Design for a residential block made in 2011 for my bachelor Architecture in Delft. First time i used AutoCAD and Adobe illustator.
In this project I designed a block of dwellings for an exercise in wich we had to design a masterplan for an empty site in the city of Delft.
The dwellings surround a park, making it possible to live in the city, while still having a fair amount of nature close by. This culture versus nature concept is expressed in the materialisation of the building. The front facade facing the street is made of bricks and glass, while the backside facing the park is made of wooden planks and shutters.
The dwellings are elevated a half floor to make parking underneath possible. This results in a elevated first floor, with playful little stairs in front of the front door and a elevated terrace facing the park, allowing parents to keep an eye on their playing kids.
