DeLeon & Stang isn't just any CPA firm. They focus on giving their clients a "WOW" experience, avoiding obscure jargon in favor of a more consumer-friendly approach. After they updated their branding to reflect their pleasant, welcoming nature, I was put in charge of designing an online PDF for their year-end tax guide. DeLeon & Stang did not have an existing style for long-form documents with tables and callouts.
To keep the stock photos I selected feeling fresh and light while still giving them a consistent style, I added a feathered edge. Thinking about what I would prefer to look at if I was reading through a "boring" tax document, I used big, bright lettering for the headers and added drop caps to liven up the text. I also hyperlinked the table of contents so that users could easily jump to sections of interest.
