For Secret Garden Party music festival in Cambridge we installed two pairs of giant binoculars. Placed 500m apart across the festival site, we fixed both fully functioning binoculars in position directly opposite one another, facing one another. As a viewer you had no idea what you were going to see until you looked through the binoculars to find another person waving right back at you. These silent interactions created connections to people you had never met, sharing a momentary wave, or gaze,  before heading back to the party.
