The new Gordon Millar Award honours individuals and organizations that demonstrate philanthropic support of the SAE Foundation (Society of the Automotive Engineers) which promotes science students and young engineers. The design for this award created by moodley is a placard that is not only visual but also tactile representing the way young engineers learn (leather-like paper, sealing wax, foil embossed lettering) The eclectic use of diverse fonts creates a visual whole.

Dr. Millar built a bridge from young to old, a bridge to the future by encouraging science students and young engineers , encouraging them to see the magic he saw in the profession he made his life’s work.The design for the Gordon Millar Award is a placard that is not only visual but also tactile to represent the way young engineers learn. Eclectic use of diverse fonts works together to create a visual whole. The finest leather like paper, foil embossed lettering and sealing wax create tactility. Glass is deliberately left off of the framing to allow viewers to also touch the awards tactile surface.
