Madinaty Central Park

Madinaty Central Park
Cairo, Egypt
The Central Park for Madinaty in New Cairo, Egypt has beendesigned to include several small gardens surrounding a large open lawn area. There is a maze garden, butterfly garden, meditation garden, and children’swater garden, to name a few.

The open lawn is bordered on one side by a long trellisstructure and on the other side by an open walkway lined with palm trees. Theconsiderable width of the trellis allows for separate seating and circulationspaces.

Lighting reinforces each; down lights onto the walking path andindirect up lighting onto the ceiling above the seating. The palm tree linedwalkway uses two up lights per tree, providing a safe, low glare pedestrianpath.
Eachof the signature gardens has lighting that is unique to that garden andreinforces its central theme. Some gardens have lighting integrated into thepaving pattern, others rely on landscape lighting, while the remainder use lowlevel path lighting.
