Chervon Headquarters
Nanjing, China
For its new headquarters, Chervon sought an image that wascontemporary and enduring. The 30,700-square meter office building is designed with a unique zigzag-shaped geometry to break it into five segments, each housing one of the five major corporate departments. The glass pavilion isintersected by a vertical shaft of metal, which represents the client’s productand acts as a lobby and entrance element.

Lighting is used to reinforce transparency and provide architectural definition.Interior surfaces are evenly illuminated to produce a glow when one views thebuilding from the exterior. In addition, the warmer color quality of the interior lighting evokes a human, more intimate feel. The large “floating”roof, punctuated with several openings, allows abundant natural light topermeate during the day . In the evening it serves as an ideal canvas to uplight, giving the building a dramatic sense of height.
