Tilos typeface is dedicated to creating indoor restriction signs. I designed the lowercase characters, basic punctuation, and diacritics for Hungarian, Polish and Slovak language. I named the typeface Tilos which is the Hungarian word for ‘prohibited’. It is a sans serif, italic, bold typeface with low contrast and relatively narrow proportions.
Tilos typfeface was inspired by the over-regulated atmosphere of Polish days&nights. I designed it during my studies at ASP Katowice with the guidance of professors Agnieszka Małecka-Kwiatkowska, Robert Jarzec and Samo Čarnoký.
