4 years ago we didn’t know much about coffee, some of us didn’t even drink it regularly, but somehow we thought it was a good idea to start our own coffee brand and with it, start a new business.
We also trick ourselves to believe that becoming our own client will be an easy task, we wouldn’t be requiring much convincing or creating thoughtful presentations, what could go wrong? Oh we were so damn wrong! With every new package we struggled for approval, we wanted the best packaging solution for what we believe is the best coffee Costa Ricans can buy. It took us several iterations (and becoming profitable enough to pay for custom bags) until we finally created a design that we all felt happy with.
Bocanegra has given us the opportunity to learn more not just about coffee but also about our capacities and how to leverage them, it has also granted us some good old and always welcome confidence of what we can achieve as a team.
We can’t still call ourselves coffee connoisseurs but now we can certainly differentiate an extraordinary coffee from a regular one… not just by its packaging.
