Adobe Demo Assets
Create design files that show off Adobe XD's capabilities for the sales team to use during presentations.
“This demo/use case has been very well received with a broad range of partners and agencies.”
-Minoo Bakke, Senior Manager of Global Partner Marketing @ Adobe
Since the focus of this project was to showcase XD's capabilities, I had to work backwards. WAH?! Instead of starting with user research, I started with brainstorming ways to display interactions and animations that would have a "wow" factor.
Now, the difficult part was having to learn Adobe XD first! Yeah, I was an avid Sketch user prior to this project and so I had to roll up my sleeves and understand what the heck XD's capabilities were first.
Pretending Can Be Liberating
After I understood what I wanted to showcase in the UI, I got to focus on storytelling. I conjured up a make-believe company, design challenge, and persona that made the design file feel like a real and relatable project. This was liberating since I got to experience a project without any product requirements and development constraints.
Woohoo! UX/UI Complete Freedom! Doesn't come by too often. ;)
From Sketch User to Adobe XD Advocate
Making a designer learn a new design tool can be like pulling teeth and at times it was completely frustrating for me. I would think, "How can I show off this cool dropdown animation if I don't know how the hell to do it?!" But funny thing is, I haven't gone back to Sketch after I completed this project, I'm totally hooked on XD.
The XD file not only converted myself (the creator) but many enterprise design teams. How do I know this? 1 year later after creating this file, I became an Adobe XD instructor, teaching enterprise partners on how to fully utilize the tool.
