Description
A Meeting with Hangeul is a playful interactive application intended to familiarize foreigners with the Korean language and its unique alphabet. The application introduces foreigners to the history, theory, structure and basic grammar of Hangeul through a series of entertaining activities. It is displayed in a stand-alone kiosk that can be easily placed within any public space or tourist site.

Communication Objective
The main objective of the application is the introduction of the Korean writing system to foreigners through a series of three interactive and fun experiences. The introduction teaches the visitor about basic structural (syntactic) differences between Korean and English through simple interaction. Then the visitor plays with the Korean alphabet, using basic word and simple sentences to get familiarized with Basic Hangul. The last activity, the Digital Postcard serves not only as an aid in remembering what they have learned, but also as a memento that will remind them of their visit. Users create digital postcards comprised of their names written in Hangeul. Finally, the application offers visitors the possibility of creating and sharing digital postcards. The postcards consist of the portraits of the visitors constructed solely from their names written in Hangeul.
