It's only a matter of time before the bubble bursts
Poster Project Graphic Matters 2017
In the summer of 2017, design festival Graphic Matters in Breda organised an Open Call for Posters called 'Shut up, Speak up!'. In this call, they invited designers from all over the world to visually respond to contemporary issues they care for. We were very honoured that our contribution was one of the selected posters.
Our poster is based on an article by designer Lucas Verweij, in which he argues that designers can not possibly live up to the many expectations surrounding the field. Design is growing in such an unbridled manner that quality can no longer be guaranteed. The title of the article 'It's only a matter of time before the bubble bursts' seemed applicable to a much broader field, whether it be in a social, financial or political context. Inspired by the tension of an almost bursting bubble, we designed a suggestive poster that can be interpreted from various perspectives.
