Yokai
Keeping up our collaboration with vermouth Dimoni, we were commissioned to design a partner for the red vermouth. While Dimoni was inspired by balearic traditions, this white vermouth had to be inspired by the japanese culture and the Yokai, traditional characters that have numerous links with its counterpart from Mallorca.
Our main interest was to keep faithful to Dimoni’s brand, but also to modify some key aspects to twist the tone. By changing Dimoni’s colour proportions and the typography combination, the packaging moved from a european, vernacular-printing look into a japanese style.
We had the opportunity to work with one of our most admired comic artists: Albert Monteys, who also turned out to be a real expert of Yokai culture.
