XORN: The Fallen God

XORN: The Fallen God is an isometric fighting game in which you are a powerful god trying to survive on a collapsing platform. This game was made during the Ludum Dare 42 under the following theme constraint:

"Running out of space"
GAME DESIGN

From the beginning, we wanted to create a game in which the player would have to make decisive choices. Fix the ground or be more powerful against monsters?

To do this, we set up a card system to buy powers and abilities based on the coins collected on enemies and crystal chests that regularly appear in the game. In addition, the remaining lives are represented by red orbs floating around the player.

The game pushes the player to constantly keep a balance between preserving his platform and not succumbing to the increasingly powerful creatures trying to catch him.
THE CHALLENGE

As game/UX designer on XORN, my role was to design all the gameplay mechanics and game balancing while managing my team. I also designed the VFX, user interfaces, lighting and post-processing as well as the final visual identity.
