JSC Ivano-Frankivsk Cement (IFCEM) is a manufacturer of cement and gypsum products with more than two thousand employees. Canteen No.1, originally opened in the 70-s, serves around 400 visitors per day.
The renovation aimed at creating an industrial, minimalist interior with traditional touch. As part of the project, the premises geometry and the visitors path were changed, the number of seats increased from 72 to 100.
Intensive use of space has led to the use of durable and robust materials. The walls are finished with glass fiber reinforced cement panels (GFRCP), made at the IFCEM factory, floor is replaced with solid concrete, the wall around the dishwashing room window is covered with stainless steel sheets. Tables — metal columns with HPL-desktops; chairs — plywood on metal legs.
Carved decorative panels in the Hutsul style (ethno-cultural group of Ukrainians) from the 70's interior are restored and integrated into the new interior. Metal shelves with plants, besides being a decoration, serve as transparent walls between interior zones. The window between the serving line and the kitchen allows to observe the cooking.
