Location: Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine
Project year: 2017-2018

Kniahynyn сommunity hall was built in 1933 by the Ukrainian community of historical part of Stanyslaviv (present Ivano-Frankivsk) of the same name, which was named after Kniahynyn Village. It housed an evangelical prayer house, and since 1952 — the Komsomolets cinema. When Ukraine became independent, the community hall began to function in the building again. After the renovation, “Novyi teatr” (“New theatre” in Ukrainian) will perform their plays here.
By design, the audience hall will change significantly. The scene area will expand to 90 sq. m, the hall will be equipped with new light and sound equipment. The interior will become temperate and dark. All attention — on the show. The audience will contain 124 spectator seats and 10 additional seats on the balcony.

The inside walls will be faced with acoustic panels, the ceiling — perforated acoustic drywall. The random angle plywood mounting will help to avoid a flutter effect. The panel backlighting will be able to change the color according to the performance drama.
